The hospital laboratory reception and other laboratory departments have been transformed to become nearly paperless. Real-time connectivity to the ePAR EMR databases provides a mechanism for laboratory technicians to receive, register, process and post results immediately. The clincians are able to access the patient specific laboratory information in the wards at a click of a button.
Irene Atieno (on the right) who is a paediatrics social worker has found the monitoring and evaluation project helpful through the ability to easily access information on ePAR EMR for tracing her clients many days after discharge from hospital.
Clinicians working in the Thika Level 5 Paediatrics department taken a photo on the corridor of the paediatrics ward. All these clinicians efforts contribute to the monitoring and evaluation activities every time they admit, review or discharge a patient. They have learnt how to use the ePAR EMR and adopted standard good clinical practice that underpin the monitoring and evaluation project.
